Monday Musings…

scared-in-bed.gif“I should have listened, I should have listened!”

These are the words cried out by my four-year-old son during the night. I hurried to his bed where he huddled in the dark. Sure that he was having a dream, I tried to ease him back onto his pillow, but he reached out and grasped my arm instead.

“What’s wrong?” I whispered.

“You were right. I shouldn’t have watched the scary cartoon. I should have listened. I dreamed about it. You were right, Mommy. I’m not ready to watch that cartoon.”

Handing over his favorite pillow and blanket, he crawled into my arms. He ended up in our bed for the rest of the night, snuggled between his daddy and me, secure in our presence.

Don’t we all have moments like this? Times where we ignore that small still voice that tells us something isn’t a good idea, yet we do what we want anyway? And when things fall apart, we cry out to God, “I should have listened, I should have listened!”

And He’s always there to answer our cry, while holding us in His arms.

I have several friends writing for this line. Check out this title by Lisa Harris:

In RECIPE FOR MURDER, Pricilla Crumb’s guest list has just turned into a suspect list. . .for murder. Pricilla never expected to be involved in a real life mystery, but that’s exactly where she finds herself when one of the guests at her son’s hunting lodge is found dead after sampling one of her salmon-filled tartlets. Determined to discover the truth, this unconventional busybody follows one lead after another, dishing up laughter and suspense along the way.

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting my new blog! I’ve revised my website and will post random thoughts about being an author, favorite reads, author friends, family, adoption, homeschooling, and whatever else comes to mind. I plan to set up separate pages for some of the above topics, so this page will mostly focus on various aspects of writing.

I want to kick off my new blog by posting about a new line from my publisher, Barbour Publishing, Inc. Enjoy!

Check back often…
